Challenges faced by HR & how to overcome it

As the business world evolves with newer technologies and demands, empolyees find it more difficult to cope with all the changes. The HR departments face many challenges when trying to keep their employees motivated and happy at the same time. Mentioned below are a few challenges and how to overcome them.

1)Engaging the Workforce — Employee engagement is extremely important to the overall health and future viability of any organisation. This cannot happen overnight but has to be an uninterrupted and planned effort for it to flourish and prosper. Managers must be provided with sufficient training to help encourage engagement within their ranks and their peers, including deskless work and extra curricular activities. Highly engaged teams see a 41% absence reduction. Engagement specialists at Gallup claim that highly engaged business units realise a 41% reduction in absenteeism. These same units see a 17% increase in productivity, achieve a 10% increase in customer ratings, a 20% increase in sales, and achieve 21% greater profitability overall.

2)Adapting to Innovation — Technology is constantly evolving. Businesses must be quick to adjust, or risk being left in the dust because of the competition. The challenge for small business owners is getting employees to champion innovation and adapt to new technologies. In these types of situations, communication is very important. The team must be taught on how to cope and manage the new technological changes. Trainings can be held to help the employees get used to the new technology adapted by the company.

3)Workforce Training & Development — Investing in training of low-skilled employees is another common HR problem. Some companies have trouble finding the resources to accomplish that. Employees at the front are some of your most hard-working employees and won’t have the time to take an additional course.Training and development does not ought to take a whole lot of time or money. Managers could mentor their subordinate personnel. You could also offer online schooling guides so people can move at their own pace. If you invest in your staff you will gain a return in terms of an increase in productivity and a reduction in staff turnover.

4)Employee health and well-being — Maximizing the collective health of a group of workers and figuring out the accompanying advantages will be an essential task for employers. Since employees are every business’ maximum precious asset, retaining them coincides with innovation and growth of the firm. Employers should maintain a healthy work-life balance that should also include healthy relationships in the workplace.
